Winter crazyness

This last winter was the winter of.... SICK  KIDS ....  Starting in Nov. Zack has had Strep Throat 3 times and Ear infections 5 times. Add that up with Alex with an ear infection and teething, and Kenzie & Jason having ear infections & mommy with a really bad cold, our winter has been spent at the doctors office or indoors.  This all lead up to Zackary having his tonsils & adenoids out and tubes put in both of his ears. His surgery was today, and he was a trooper. As we sat in recovery with him Jason and I realized we have a really awesome little boy. He didn't cry once and was smiling and eating Popsicles within 15 mins. of waking up from surgery. It didn't even phase him when other patients where rolled in crying and upset. A very early morning ended up going very smoothly and painless ( well for mom and dad at least :);)  I'm really looking forward to spring so we can get rid of all the germs that have traveled the house way too long.
January was really good for McKenzie. She really came into her own at school and home since the beginning of the year.  She is really proud that she is already doing 2nd grade math work. Her teacher calls her " the Math Whiz", or "the Math Queen" I'm so happy she is doing so well. She is looking forward to teaching her little brother the ropes of School next year.

Zackary turned 5 in February. He is so happy to be getting ready to go to Kindergarten in August. He has started learning to write his name. I got him some letter stamps so he could practice spelling that way too.  What little kid doesn't love colorful stamps? For Christmas he got a Bike. He's out everyday to ride it (in good weather most of the time) I think he is really waiting for spring too. The outdoors are just too tempting but that also means MUD for mom. My front porch has become the place for muddy shoes. It's the only time when I don't mind the wood floors.

Alex is getting out of the baby stage and going headlong into toddler hood. He is on the move. He started walking in early March. He has also figured out how to climb the stairs. Its time to do more baby/toddler proofing.  His favorite place is my kitchen. There is a drawer just his height and has measuring cups and other big kitchen tools in it. He loves this one the most. I'm always finding my measuring spoons and cups in the oddest places now, the laundry room, bathroom, under the dinning table, under the couch. Silly Silly boy. He also follows his big brother around like a lost puppy. Their favorite game and toys is the CARS. Good thing we have plenty of those.   Alex is usually the giant the stomps through the town Zack has set up for the cars to drive through. Zack gets the biggest kick when the giant has to take a rest on one of the buildings. When big brother starts to giggle so does the Giant. I love watching them play together.
